It has been a month since the NSW government released the SRLUP, renewed PELs and granting of a production lease for Metgasco's Casino Gas Project.
This is essentially a greenl light for the gas industry to reignite the exploration and production of CSG, so congratulations to responsible gas explorers and producers in the State. With only 6% of NSW gas usage produced locally, NSW can now move on to ensuring energy security for domestic and industrial usages.
One of the slogans we constantly hear from anti-csg/coal/petroleum protestors is "you can't eat coal, can't drink gas". To me personally, I think it is probably one of the top ten catch-phrase of all time. Of course no one would eat, breath or drink coal and gas directly. But to deny these energy resources as asking people to choose between either food or energy, are both in my opinion; ignorant and extreme. Yes, you can have both by having the extractive industry co-exist with agriculture.
So here is another interesting development about LtG.
Sydney Morning Herald (22/10/2012) article has revealed that the son of Pokies Len Ainsworth has made donations to Drew Hutton and Lock the Gate activities. Mr. Kjerulf Ainsworth is no stranger to the oil & gas industry as the article revealed that he owns 15 petrol stations. What's going on?
Hutton was ask to guarantee that he will not run a greens agenda with Lock the Gate, for if he did, support from Mr Ainsworth would be withdrawn. Well Hutton denies of course. But why the association with Green Left and spoke on April 29, 2011 at a Green Left forum in Brisbane :
"This is the battle for the end of the fossil fuel industry. This is the end game,"

I was engaged to undertake building work at many of Kjerulf Ainsworth so called 15 service stations. One site in particular on the Darling Downs was a severlly contaminated site. When we undertook excavation, stale fuel would fill the hole. This was adjesent to a operating butcher shop. The site was closed down as the Underground Fuel Storage Tanks were condemed and sat idle for over 5 years and sold as is.
ReplyDeleteI was also accused of contaminating his fuel storage tanks on another site of which he ownes as I did not fix a building downpipe. In court, the judge questioned him why he did not undertake any repairs, three years after the accusations were lodged against me. Does this guy really care for the enviroment or is he just on another one of his expencive ego trip.
I'm sorry to hear about your troubles and hope everything had worked out OK at the end.
DeleteIn my own opinion, everyone is, and can be an environmentalist. However, there are differences to being an environmentalist, or an environmental extremist, which almost always operates under political influences (even though they always denies it). Or personal ego trip like you've suggested.
So effectively, is Kjerulf Ainsworth indirectly taking on Clive Palmer with his fathers money? Wouldn't donating through "GetUp" be less of a statement for the Ainsworth's if so ?
DeleteDon't think it's about Clive Palmer. But certainly it's about ganging up with Drew Hutton of Lock the Gate/Friends of the Earth. They want to place a blanket ban on gas and all fosil fuels eventually. Lock the Gate has spreaded mistruths and utilised a fear campaign based on a Hollywood non-documentary.
DeleteThey want land owners to lock their gates to gas companies, but won't respect those farmers who wants to work with gas companies, as gas extraction and farming can co-exist. These pseudo-environmentalists have known to abuse, terrorise local farmers and vandalise public and private properties.

DeleteKjerulf Ainsworth has spent most of his adult life and family money on Vexatious litigation against his father, family, lover and tradesmen......who he neglects to pay. I doubt there is a conspiracy , his mother has a little farm. kjerulf arrogantly proclaimed his attitude to being untouchable. "He who litigates most, wins"! I have no doubt he will litigate his own mother in time....she is his business partner and Kupplerin.
ReplyDeleteHis half brother Paul had this to say about Kjerulf's interview with the Sydney Morning Heraled

I see, the comment was made by Paul Ainsworth following the link that you provided. Other than that I really couldn't care about his family affairs. So thanks any way.
ReplyDeleteSiblings divided
I'm shocked, appalled, mortified and embarrassed by the quote attributed to my half-brother Kjerulf Ainsworth: ''We're still worth a couple of billion dollars and we're probably untouchable, unless we do something wrong'' (''Son of pokies king funds anti-gas fight'', October 22).
Such delusions of grandeur are his alone and should not be taken as a family view of itself. They are certainly not mine.

This guy is a loose cannon. He honestlly thinks he is Warren Buffett. His so called 15 service stations are all running at a huge loss. I was contracred in rebuilding some of his dumps.
ReplyDeleteHe has mum wraped around his little finger, and if he donsn`t get his way, he just abuses her till he does. One of his service station sites that owed him over $500,000 was so contaminated and was sold for less than $50,000. His dad does not fund his fight against CSG, so get your story right.
